Written at the age of 17, Wonder (initially titled Before the ice is in the pools) was one of Christopher's first major successes in composition, earning him the honour of the Sir David Willcocks Carol Competition 2021. Drawing inspiration from the poetry of Emily Dickinson, this contemplative carol delicately captures the serene ambiance of winter. With its subtle melodies and harmonies, the piece invites listeners to immerse themselves in the quiet beauty of the season.
