This Shining Night is an organ prelude inspired by the beautiful night scenes of the Kent-based photography Susan Pilcher. The prelude opens with a sequence of luminous chords, seemingly suspended in mid-air, before delicate motifs reminiscent of starlight gradually emerge from the texture. It culminates in a resounding climax, evoking the awe-inspiring spectacle of a night sky ablaze with stars.
